Korean American Language Exchange (KALE)

Welcome to KALE (Korean American Language Exchange)! KALE is a student-led, non-profit organization where we connect Korean and American students to participate in a unique language opportunity in a virtual setting.

In an ideal session, the tutor and tutee will communicate about a topic and the tutor will provide feedback on how to improve their Korean/English pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar. Application requirements include an application form and a short interview.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide Korean and American high schoolers with an opportunity to learn more about the language they are interested in. Students can engage in a friendly environment which will build their communication skills, linguistic abilities, and cultural understanding.

Why Use KALE?

Learning a language in class is vastly different from interacting with a native in a real-life situation. By connecting tutees with a tutor who is familiar with everyday conversation, the tutee can learn how to use the language in practical situations. KALE can be especially helpful for those who are planning on visiting or moving to Korea or an English speaking country.
